About Coordinate Formats

Different applications and devices use different coordinate formats. This tool allows you to convert between the most common formats:

• Decimal Degrees (DD): The most common format used in digital mapping and GPS devices. Uses decimal numbers with positive values for North/East and negative for South/West.
• Degrees Minutes Seconds (DMS): Traditional format using degrees (°), minutes ('), and seconds ("). Common in navigation and aviation.
• Degrees Decimal Minutes (DDM): A hybrid format using degrees and decimal minutes. Often used in marine navigation.
